Volunteer with ICL
Give back to Idaho's environment by volunteering with ICL!
Become an ICL Wilderness Steward!
Recreate with purpose: give back to Idaho's public lands while hitting the trails!
ICL Wilderness Stewards independently patrol in central Idaho’s wilderness and Recommended Wilderness Areas to explore, clean up, and help report data back to the U.S. Forest Service. Being an ICL Wilderness Steward means getting to do meaningful, rewarding work while learning new skills.
Become an ICL Water Quality Steward!
Help protect the iconic lakes, rivers, and waterways of North Idaho as an ICL Water Quality Steward!
Our Water Quality Monitoring Program (WQMP) is a consistent, long-term monitoring effort to measure water quality in Lake Pend Oreille and the Pend Oreille River. This citizen-science initiative is made possible thanks to dedicated volunteer stewards who collect monthly water quality data and samples from May through September. This data helps scientists better understand the overall health of the lake and river systems, and brings awareness to water quality issues in North Idaho!
Help out our team in our offices!
From office events to mailings, ICL's office staff could use your help from time to time!
Volunteers are needed to help ICL’s Development Team with our ongoing membership communications, events, and more! If you have nice handwriting, we would love your help addressing envelopes. This task can be done at the ICL office or at home, and typically requires the volunteer to pick up and drop off envelopes from our Boise office. Don’t have handwriting cred but still want to help out? We’d love your help stuffing, sealing, and stamping our mailing materials once or twice a month at our Boise office. Timing and commitment can be flexible. We also could potentially use your help at other office locations, including Ketchum, McCall, and Sandpoint! Ready to get involved? Please contact ICL Development Communications Associate, Kayla Wilcox at 208.345.6933 x 227 or by email and let her know which office you’d like to help out at!
