Senate Bill 1238, introduced by Sen. Daniel Foreman (R-Moscow), is intended to ensure sportsmen and the general public have ample opportunity to provide comments to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) when the agency is setting seasons or take limits for harvest of fish and game species. IDFG typically provides 15 days, at a minimum, for public comments. SB 1238 would require IDFG to provide a minimum of 30 days for public participation when adopting, repealing, or amending any proclamation relating to hunting, fishing or trapping.
