Water Quality Steward Training- Sandpoint, ID

The Idaho Conservation League is hosting a water quality steward training for our water quality monitoring program that takes place every summer from June-September on Lake Pend Oreille. 

During this training session, you will learn:

  • what parameters ICL samples/tests for and what they indicate

  • How to use a vertical sampling device to collect a water sample

  • How to take a surface water sample

  • How to use a Secchi disk to determine appropriate sampling depth 

  • What this data can be used for

  • What the data tells us about the health of our lake

…and more! 

What to bring:

  • Water bottle

  • Sun protection

  • Camping chair if desired 

  • Appropriate attire for water sampling 

* This training is open to the public, and you are encouraged to attend if you are interested in our water quality monitoring program!

* Volunteer water quality stewards are required to attend a training session
