Yesterday, Idaho Forest Group announced their support for the proposed Scotchman Peaks Wilderness in North Idaho’s Bonner County.

In a letter to Idaho’s congressional delegation, company Chairman Marc Brinkmeyer wrote:

Idaho Forest Group is dedicated and committed to good stewardship of our forests, and works within the community to increase the timber production from our national forests and to advance the preservation of certain locally-supported wilderness areas.

The endorsement adds to a growing and diverse list of organizations and people that support the proposed wilderness area.

In addition to the nearly 6,000 individuals that are self-identified “friends” of the Scotchman Peaks, key endorsements were made earlier this year by the Greater Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce and the Bonner County Commission.

The Idaho Conservation League believes that the time has come for our congressional delegation to act on the proposed Scotchman Peaks Wilderness.
