Geoffrey Fast

Solitude Monitoring Coordinator

Raised in Idaho, Geoff spent the summers of his youth exploring trails on the Sawtooth National Forest. After volunteering in the European Alps, Geoff came home with a deeper understanding of the value of the central Idaho wildlands and went on to study resource and wilderness management at the University of Montana.

Geoff spent the following 20 years working for the US Forest Service as a packer, wilderness ranger, and trail foreman in the vast Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness. The past few years, Geoff managed recreation for the agency on the Lochsa and Selway Wild & Scenic Rivers and in the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness. He is thrilled to be back 'home' helping ICL and the USFS keep the Hemingway Boulder and Cecil Andrus White Cloud Wilderness Areas wild and pristine for generations to come.
