Life in Idaho is special. It is a way of life based on clean air and water, abundant wildlife, world-class recreation, and communities that support each other. This is especially true in North Idaho—where great lakes glisten, ancient forests draw us in, and breathtaking wildlife spark awe and wonder.

ICL’s North Idaho Lakes and Waters Advocacy Program focuses on protecting the waters of Idaho’s panhandle from degradation, pollution, and poor land use management. We work to ensure the Idaho way of life stays special—for now and future generations. But we need your support. You can protect North Idaho’s special places and unique way of life. Please support our mission by joining us for Live Give 7B! Plus, you also have a chance to support conservation and win a Wenonah Spirit II canoe!

What is Live Give 7B?

This four-day fundraising campaign inspires community-wide giving and builds awareness about the critical work of Bonner County (7B) nonprofits. Between April 14-18, 2025, 7B residents are invited to find a cause they care about and make a donation. With over 60 nonprofits participating, there is something for everyone! This week-long campaign will bring together nonprofits, businesses, and residents to support the things that make 7B such a special place to call home. We hope you’ll enjoy the week to learn about and donate to the great nonprofits that call 7B home—and we hope the Idaho Conservation League will be one of them!

A Special Raffle for ICL!

Recognizing that the North Idaho lifestyle wouldn’t be the same without its precious waters, this year for Live Give 7B, the Idaho Conservation League is honored to host a special raffle for a Wenonah Spirit II canoe! This canoe is generously donated by Molly O-Reilly in memory of her late husband, Steve Lockwood, a former ICL Board Member.

Steve dedicated his life to public service in Sandpoint and championed environmental causes throughout the region. He served on the Sandpoint City Council, the local planning and zoning commission, and the school district board. His advocacy spanned responsible land use planning, alternative transportation, native plant and wildlife conservation, and climate action.

This pre-owned canoe is in good condition and includes a set of wooden paddles and a Thule car rack for transport (please note that the rack may not be compatible with all vehicle models). It is also extremely light, making it easy to load on your car or launch into the water. The canoe is located in Sandpoint, Idaho, and the raffle winner will be responsible for making arrangements to pick it up.

Raffle tickets are $20 each or six for $100, and go on sale March 31st. The winning ticket will be drawn and announced on April 18th at Matchwood Brewing (you need not be present to win)! This canoe was owned by the late Steve Lockwood, and comes with paddles and transportation gear. Buy your tickets today!

All raffle proceeds will support the Idaho Conservation League’s efforts to protect the air you breathe, the water you drink, and the land and wildlife you love.
