Kootenai Bay Station

ICL began sampling Kootenai Bay in 2023. Boyer Slough suffers from high levels of pollution and drains into Kootenai Bay, so our monitoring will show how significantly that pollution is impacting the Bay. In 2022, the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) created the Kootenai Bay Watershed Advisory Group (WAG) with the goal of improving and protecting water quality here. ICL actively participates in the WAG and looks forward to contributing the data we collect to the improvement plan.
