Official Legislative Site

Senator Dan Foreman (R-Viola) introduced Senate Bill 1003 in the Senate Resources and Environment Committee. This bill closes a loophole by prohibiting individuals with outstanding fines from receiving hunting, fishing, or trapping licenses.

The bill passed the Senate in 2024, but was never considered in the House. We hope to see it advance further this year.

It should be clear to courts and potential poachers that if you violate wildlife laws, you lose the privilege to hunt, fish, or trap in Idaho until you pay your fines.
