Join us for an afternoon at the library to learn steps to minimize the risk of conflicts with both black and grizzly bears! North Idaho Director Brad Smith will talk about identifying black and grizzly bears, best practices while recreating in Idaho, how to avoid a bear encounter, and how to respond if you do encounter a bear. After the presentation, attendees will have the chance to practice using bear spray with inert training canisters.

We believe that public education is critical to the successful coexistence of people and bears. This event is free and open to all ages.
