Defend the South Fork Salmon River Watershed – McCall, Idaho

September 11 at 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

DAY-OF UPDATE: Due to weather, this event will now be held at the Pavilion in Ponderosa State Park. Other event details remain the same.

Join Advocates for the West, the Idaho Conservation League, Nez Perce Tribe, and Save the South Fork Salmon to learn about threats from the proposed Stibnite Gold Mine east of McCall. Listen to live music from Sean Gould. Hear a panel of experts discuss our efforts to stop the proposed Stibnite Gold Mine and protect the South Fork Salmon River watershed. Enjoy complimentary Crusty’s pizza, Salmon River Brewery beer, and non-alcoholic beverages!

Perpetua Resources’ proposal includes three open pit mines and a towering mine waste dam on the edge of the Frank Church–River of No Return Wilderness, posing both short- and long-term threats to water quality, salmon and steelhead, wolverines and other wildlife, human health, and Tribal interests. The area within and surrounding the proposed mine is part of the aboriginal homelands of the Nez Perce Tribe over which the Tribe has treaty-reserved fishing, hunting, gathering, and pasturing rights.

Bring your own lawn chair or blanket, and learn more about how you can get involved to stop Stibnite!
