Are you a young professional who is passionate about Idaho’s environment and looking for ways to speak up for it?

ICL is seeking applications for the 2023-2024 cohort of the Emerging Leaders for Idaho’s Environment (ELIE) program! ELIE is a leadership program focused on connecting the next generation of conservationists with opportunities to make a difference with Idaho’s environmental movement.

Now in its sixth year, the program builds Idaho’s conservation community through dynamic reciprocity between ICL and young leaders, cohort-based professional development and partnership building, and meaningful contributions to ICL’s work for conservation in Idaho.

Members of ELIE gather for a retreat in the Boulder White Clouds.

Only 10-15 people join each ELIE cohort, providing ample opportunities for connecting with other young professionals, engaging with ICL staff, supporting ICL’s work on various issues, and having a great time.

Past ELIE projects include coordinating film screenings and trivia nights, supporting membership efforts, writing public comments on conservation issues, and more!

ELIE members host a trivia night in Caldwell.

The 2023-2024 cohort starts on June 14, 2023 and ends in May 2024. The program will include twice monthly meetings, a weekend retreat, readings and resources, volunteer opportunities, and cohort-led projects. The program is based in Boise, Idaho.

“I joined ELIE at a time in my life when I was craving a bit more meaning and connectedness. My experience in the cohort provided just that. ICL is an amazing community of individuals striving to protect the state we love in a compassionate, educated, and diligent manner. The ICL team’s enthusiasm is contagious and encouraging, and the knowledge they shared made me feel empowered to carry on the torch as the next generation of Idaho’s conservationists.” – Sarah, 2018-2019 ELIE Cohort
